We made a short hop up the road to a very nice campground in the Dordogne region. It is a geographically large area but one of the least populated regions of France. It is very hilly with many small river valleys that makes both farming and manufacturing difficult. It kind of reminds me of eastern Kentucky or western North Carolina. The drive was on all D roads so I earned my driving credentials for today, including negotiating a very tight passage of a tour bus that we met on a very narrow stretch of road with sheer rock walls on one side. While we only covered 100 kilometers it took nearly 3 hours to do it.

We picked this campsite because it was billed as a five star campground meaning it had every conceivable luxury that a campground can have in France. We were not disappointed as the campground does have every conceivable thing a campground can have including what we were looking for which was large commercial washers and dryers as we wanted to wash our bedding. When we were done with the wash we both decided today was a good day to rest so we took advantage of the excellent wifi to stream movies for the rest of the day.

What an amazing photo of the bamboo! I love Ton’s photography style.
Ton says thanks. She spends as much time picking photos out as I do writing the blog each night. We are looking forward to hearing how your Ireland trip is going as we have it on our list for future trips.
